If you are planning on buying a holiday home, one important consideration for two reasons is how easy it is to actually get to the property. Many people buy beautiful villas at rock bottom prices in the sticks, only to find that it is difficult to access the property, as it is so far from the nearest airport or train station. When looking at any property find out how far it is from the nearest major airport and check which airlines fly in and out of there and on which flight deals Bear in mind that some routes only operate at certain times of the year and also that there is always a danger of airlines pulling out of a particular route.
Ideally you do not want your property to be more than an hour or so away from the airport and even better if there are regular buses or trains from the airport to close to your house so that you do not have to pay a fortune in taxis each time.
This way it will be much more accessible to visit if you only have a few days to spare and fancy visiting your apartment or villa.
The other reason for choosing to be close to a major airport is if you are planning on renting out the property to holiday makers as it will be much more in demand if it is easy to get to.
