Richard Cobbold, rector of Wortham in the 1850s. His mother wrote the novel Margaret Catchpole, about a young woman involved in smuggling.

Cobbold himself described the people and buildings of his parish, both in words and a charming series of pictures. Several of these can be seen by searching this site.
